How Meetvid Works

From zero to chatting in seconds

Meetvid runs entirely in your browser using WebRTC, the same peer-to-peer technology that powers professional video calling. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. Here is the full flow:

Step 1 — Tap Video or Text

Choose how you want to chat. Allow camera and microphone access for video, or pick text-only mode to chat by message.

Step 2 — Get matched

You join the queue and our matchmaker pairs you with an available stranger in about a second, prioritising shared interests when you add tags.

Step 3 — Start talking

A direct, peer-to-peer connection opens between you and your partner. Say hello and enjoy the conversation.

Step 4 — Skip anytime

Not feeling it? Tap Next to instantly meet someone new. You are always one tap away from a fresh match.

Step 5 — Report if needed

If anyone breaks the rules, one-tap reporting alerts our moderation team and feeds our reputation system.

Video or text — your choice

Not everyone wants to be on camera, and that is completely fine. Text mode uses the same matching engine without the webcam, and you can switch between them whenever you like. Camera-shy users often start in text and turn on video once they are comfortable.

Make matching smarter with interests
